Dr. Fowler has an interesting history. Originally from Canada he was recruited by an international corporation to manage a group of hospitals in Southern California. His background at the time included a PhD in health services administration and a partially completed medical education. His intent was to ultimately return to school to finish his medical training. This was not to take place until his mid-forties. Dr. Fowler gained a reputation as a turn-around specialist and was much sought after by all of the major national hospital chains. He formed his own healthcare consulting company in 1991 and was quite successful. An opportunity to sell his company and retire presented itself in late 1995. Contemplating his future and with the support of his wife, he returned to medical school. He graduated with honors in 2000. Knowing his interest in family practice, he chose one of the most demanding residency programs in the country. Dr. Fowler purchased Dr. Walter E. Yury's well established practice in 2000. Dr. Yury treated patients in this facility for over 40 years. Dr. Fowler started part time in his own practice in 2001 and  completed his residency in 2003 at which time he has since dedicated all of his time. He continues in a part-time basis as a member of the faculty of Western University of Health Sciences teaching new residents.As an osteopathic physician, he incorporates manual medicine with modern medicine when treating patients. He enjoys osteopathic manipulation techniques as well as treating all members of the family.
