Important Information

As a board certified family physician Dr. Kristin Dark specializes in the primary medical care of all age groups, providing the entire family with compassionate and coordinated healthcare.

Knowing at a young age that she wanted to become a physician, Dr. Dark focused on academic excellence, earning the first full academic scholarship to be awarded by Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. As an undergraduate she studied theology and molecular biology and performed cancer research for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Pacific Northwest Laboratory. Before entering medical school she served for a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps -- a service organization in which volunteers live in a simple manner in a spiritual community while staffing non-profit social justice agencies for poor and marginalized persons. Her experience in mental health as a rehabilitation counselor and case manager in a residential psychiatric facility helped cement her decision to pursue primary care as a specialty. Dr. Dark completed her post-graduate education in Family Medicine at the Long Beach Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Dark speaks basic medical Spanish and is working toward fluency. She is active in her church and leads medical missions to East Africa helping to establish medical clinics to treat children orphaned by AIDS. Dr. Dark lives in Long Beach with her husband and their many dogs.
